a quick earner. [Jun. 2nd, 2008|12:26 pm]
The courier services are being pants. would anyone be near Havant on a weekend like to earn some crinkly paper stuff to pick up some drill bits? (very special ones for ultra period woodwork) and let me wend my may to them to pick them up when i can get up to the big smoke. It turns out to be a bit of a pain in the bum ebay purchase but will allow me to set children to work making odds and ends without fear of injury.

kind regards
a frustrated john

lulworth and insurance [Apr. 9th, 2008|09:41 am]
Hi, I was just wondering how many of you are wanting to do the lulworth show from 25th to 30th may. I will only be able to do 25th to the 27th. as I have a large booking from then.

I have bad news about the insurance. The company I was getting my insurance from seems less than trustworthy. They are wanting to charge an extra 800pounds on top of my policy for additional members (the same number as last year). (this is the one that took 8 months to get my policy to me.) I just can't afford it on my business budget when I can have insurance cover for my kit, combat, pyros and black powder for 120 from reenactorguard.

wall tents [Feb. 16th, 2008|11:22 pm]
on monday I am off to pick up 3 14' x 14' wall tents, in need of repair. The guy has a load more does anyone want me to pick one up for them. I guess the major repairs are the wall sheet as this sits on the ground and gets a beating. They are 35pounds each. Call me if you need extra tentage or canvas.

there's a dead mouse in my chamber pot! [Nov. 6th, 2007|03:05 pm]
No seriously!

Things have been humming along well at Smuggler's hole.
The cabin is complete I just need to sort the windows and the stove out, However I woke up this morning to find that a mouse had expired in my gazunder. It was bloody cold night and I couldn't be dealing with a hundred yard trek in the freezing fog.

I am now on the lookout for a potbellied stove or similar interior woodburner.

New products for sale are sulphur dips, tallow candles with marline wicks and eathenware jars, bottles and inkwells. I also have a few heavy duty bed warmers and a victorian opium pipe set just so you know.

Hundreds of pewter buttons are available too.... I didn't know where to stop!

It's all very cozy. Photos to follow.
I hope all is well in your respective shacks and shanties.

Smuggler's Market dec 15th [Oct. 1st, 2007|05:36 pm]
Avast ye wether beaten dogs and turncoats :0)
There be an event in the making down at Smuggler's hole involving taking over the whole courtyard centre. I'm looking for anyone hardened enough to deal with some scurvy land lubbers and do a bit of display work.

There may be hog roast in the offering.

Send yer replies in a bottle to yours truly.

PS. if you know of anyone who might want to set up a stall or display then load them into a cannon and fire them to me.

Yours buoyantly

calling all brigands [Apr. 11th, 2007|09:15 pm]
Ahoy there, It's getting very piratey down here in sunny Dorset and I'm starting to think about organising a grand opening of the business. Everyone is invited (pirates especially. However I need to pick a date that people can make. Mid May on.

Any particular dates suit people.

pirate shops and yellow containers [Mar. 15th, 2007|01:33 pm]
Well, I now have a business premisis. I've not quite got the storage for the Neptunes Lament yet but its all going well.

If you had a pirate shop, what would you call it?

If you had a 40' by 8' steel container on your trading site at your complete disposal...including any modifications, what woul you do with it (pirate related)?
Ideas that come to hand are a stockade, museum or even a smugglers cave.

Your's truly....panicing quite a bit now at the big adventure.
